No, this is not an attempt of a little guy taking on a big guy, in order to get noticed. Elon Musk has done more for humanity and the environment than many other people combined.
So, what is my issue?
What I want to say is this:
For the love of God, stop chanting like a hypnotized rabbit! “Elon, Elon, Elon ...” Consuming all possible news about him, what he says, what he thinks, what he hopes, what he loves... you are not him. Do not try to act like him. He is doing well, and he will do well even without additional media attention.
This entire Elon Musk frenzy is almost like a rerun of the Kardashians, but for tech people. Ironically by writing about it I am doing the same thing, doh ...
The difference between you and Elon is that he has powerful friends, and you do not.
Because of the status he has, tomorrow, he could come up with a fart perfume, and he will succeed. Many people out there would happily buy it and proudly wear it, convincing others that this is a new fashion trend. He can do that, because people created a cult around him.
The saddest thing is that many people out there have the potential to be “the next Elon Musk,” maybe that could be you. Yes, I am talking to you, the one who reads these lines.
You just need a good work ethic, and you need to find people that are willing to sacrifice a few hours a day working together with you on that cool project — for a cut, of course.
Will they reach the same success?
Probably not, but do you really have to?
Wouldn’t it be cool just to see their ideas come to life?
Additionally, once in a while, it would be a nice gesture from tech idols if they would say that they are not all-powerful, master brains — that, for all the things invented in all of their companies, there are other people behind them, doing a lot of the work. There was always some Paul, Mary, Michael, Nancy, Joe, Thomas, Jill, and who knows who else or how many of them.
It was not the billionaire’s own personal effort that got him there. Bill Gates did not invent Windows 10, 7, 8..., Visual Studio, SQL Server, or hundreds of other Microsoft products. From time to time, since they are already robbing them of money through a poor social contract, it would be nice to at least give them some credit for all the good work they have done.
So, once in a while my dear fellow journalists and blogers, please give us a break with the top management and show those people behind the scenes!
That being said, be the next “Elon” and stop minding the original...
Above all, love yourself, and be your own idol!
